A nostalgic break to some of the most important battle sites of World War One. Based in Arras, you'll tread in the footsteps of the brave and visit some moving and memorable sites.
Where you will be staying
Hotel Ibis, Arras
Ideally located in the heart of the historic centre, The hotel has a bar and restaurant. All en suite rooms include a radio, telephone and TV.
What you will be doing
Day 1 A morning departure to Dover for our ferry crossing to Calais. We continue through Northern France via Vimy Ridge Canadian Memorial and on to Arras.
Day 2 To Albert and La Boiselle, where the Battle of Somme began. We visit the Thiepval and Beaumont Hamel memorials and British war graves. We continue to the historic town of Amiens, which was badly scarred during both World Wars.
Day 3 To Ypres, stopping at Tyne Cot Cemetery and Hill 62. In Ypres we visit the Menin Gate with time for sightseeing. We continue to Langemarck to see the German graves, before returning to Ypres for the daily Last Post Ceremony - the traditional salute to the fallen warriors.
LAST DAY An optional tour of the underground tunnel system built by the Allies under Arras. We depart for Calais and our ferry crossing to Dover, arriving home during the evening.
